What is MISTREE?
MISTREE is a premium architectural cooling installation that combines ultra-fine evaporative cooling with programmable lighting to create cooler, more engaging outdoor spaces. Designed for architects, landscape architects and developers, MISTREE is available for projects worldwide through our international supply and installation partners.
Developed through a collaboration between The Roland Group, with more than 40 years of British manufacturing expertise, and Barron Gould Studio, whose design experience includes contributing to the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain.
Standing at over five metres tall, MISTREE is a striking architectural feature which brings together precision engineering, architectural design and lighting technology to deliver exceptional reliability, performance and visual impact to public spaces.
In hot climates, it releases ultra-fine mist droplets (below 10 microns), creating efficient evaporative cooling that can significantly reduce local ambient temperatures by up to 10°C. The result is a refreshing microclimate that improves comfort, encourages dwell time, and supports social interaction in exposed urban areas.
After dark, a fully programmable DMX-controlled LED system illuminates the mist canopy, transforming MISTREE into a dynamic visual centrepiece. Colours, intensity and sequences can be tailored to suit events, branding, or seasonal themes.
During cooler months, when misting is not required, optional acrylic globes can be fitted to the branch tips. These illuminated spheres maintain MISTREE’s night-time presence without the use of water.
